Custom software

Software for the process no standard tool represents properly: from the data model to the first production version, built for operation and for growth. The source code belongs to you.

01 How you recognise it

Does this sound like your situation?

Three starting points we see regularly. One of them is enough.

  • 01

A process lives in a tool never built for it

Spreadsheets, email chains and workarounds that only work while the right person is there.

  • 02

Many tools bring more friction than benefit

Double entry, breaks at the handovers and nobody who knows the whole picture.

  • 03

The process is your competitive advantage

No standard product represents it without compromises, and exactly those compromises are what cost you.

02 What you get

Three results you will notice in daily work.

  • An honest decision

Configure, integrate, automate or build, with cost per option. We also say when the standard solution is cheaper.

  • A first production version

The core of the process runs in daily work, deliberately limited but real. Extension follows the feedback.

  • Documentation, access, handover

Architecture, data model and operation are described. You decide whether FIOXX continues or your team takes over.

03 What it looks like

A first usable scope.

Schematic example with fictitious data

This is how we cut a first version: small enough to run early in daily work, large enough to be genuinely useful.

ElementDefinition
PurposeRecord, assign and photograph inspection jobs, today handled in a spreadsheet and by email
InputJob with location, installation and deadline; photo and note from a mobile device
OutputInspection report as PDF, overview of open jobs, export for accounting
UsersSix inspectors in the field, two people in scheduling
Not includedCreating offers, invoicing, offline mode, multiple languages
Deliberately laterInterface to the ERP, only once the process is established in daily work

The row “not included” matters more than the others. It stops a first version from turning into a project without an end.

How do we start?

Ioannis and Tugce Fotiou discussing a process together at the desk
This is how every collaboration starts: with a concrete process on the table, not with a specification document.

There is no suitable standard product for your process, or adapting one would cost more than your own solution.

A bounded first usable version, with a clear description of what it does not yet contain.

Subject matter contacts, sample data and a decision about operation and hosting.

We only need these accesses and documents once we start working together. For a first conversation, a short description of your situation is enough.

04 Decision

Build, but only when it is worth it.

When is custom software the right choice?

Custom software is right when a process is business critical and no standard product represents it without compromises, when combining several tools creates more friction than one solution of your own, or when the process itself is a competitive advantage.

Nobody develops their own accounting, email or standard CRM. For an offer process that sets your company apart, software of your own can be the difference between scaling and standing still. FIOXX helps to draw that line honestly.

05 Types

What we develop.

  • 01

    Internal tools

Input forms, checking tools, dashboards and admin interfaces for teams: small, targeted, productive quickly.

  • 02

    Workflow applications

Flows with ownership, status, deadlines and approvals as an application of their own instead of an email chain.

  • 03

    Customer and partner portals

Self-service for orders, documents, status and support, connected to CRM and ERP.

  • 04

    Data platforms

Bring data from several sources together, clean it and make it available for reporting and AI.

  • 05

    SaaS products

Software for many customers: multi-tenant, scalable, with billing, operation and evolution in the design.

  • 06

    Integration services

Our own services that connect systems when standard interfaces and platforms are not enough.

06 How we work

From the idea to a productive application.

  1. 01

    Discovery and data model

Understand process, users, objects and rules. The data model is the first decision and the longest lived.

  2. 02

    Prototype

A clickable draft of the most important flows, to test assumptions with users early. Cheaper than any correction later.

  3. 03

    First production version

The core of the process runs in daily work, deliberately reduced but real. Feedback from use steers the extension.

  4. 04

    Extension in stages

Further features, integrations and automations are added in short cycles, prioritised by value.

  5. 05

    Handover and operation

Documentation, access, monitoring and training. You decide whether FIOXX continues or your team takes over.

07 Quality

What every piece of FIOXX software brings with it.

  • 01

    Maintainability

Widely used technologies, a clear structure, no exotics. Other developers have to be able to take over the code.

  • 02

    Tests

Core logic and interfaces are tested automatically. Changes do not break anything unnoticed.

  • 03

    Security

Authentication, permissions, encryption and logging are part of the design, not the result of an audit.

  • 04

    Documentation

Architecture, data model, interfaces and operation are described, briefly, currently and findably.

08 Next

Software with a connection.

Custom software rarely stands alone: it exchanges data with CRM and ERP, triggers automations or embeds AI features. That is why we build interfaces and AI components along with it, and show with IYOS that we also build software as a product.

09 FAQ

Common questions about custom software

What does custom software cost?

That depends on scope, integrations and operating requirements. A serious number exists after the discovery. More important than the initial price is the total cost over the lifetime: operation, maintenance, further development. We disclose both and also say when a standard solution is cheaper.

How quickly is a first version ready?

We work towards a first production version that covers the core process, not towards a complete solution from a specification. Depending on the scope that is a matter of a few weeks. After that the software grows with feedback from daily work.

Who owns the software?

You do. Source code, data and access sit with you, regardless of who operates the software. That is part of every contract with FIOXX.

Next step

Which process at your company runs in a tool that was never built for it?

Describe the flow to us. We say honestly whether configuration, integration or software of your own is the right path, and what a first version includes.
